She and her husband Rex have 4 children: Joe, Josh, Ben, and Shelby.

Their pets include two dogs a golden retriever named “Sasha” and a Newfoundland "Lily", 2 cats: “Sassy”, “Mr.”.

Cheryl has always lived in Cedar Rapids. She attended Washington High School.
